Not quite mid-week yet.
I'm sitting outside on the porch waiting for dinner to be ready. The whole house is filling up with wonderful smells of whats to come. I thought while I wait I'd blog for a bit. I wanted to write yesterday because I had so much on my mind but things got in the way and the next thing I knew it was time for bed. Life seems to pass very quickly like that everyday more and more. Sometimes the harder I try to stop and smell the roses and cherish my day the quicker it goes by. I woke up yesterday in a foul mood. I had a bad dream again the night before and for some reason the feeling lingers with me throughout the whole day. I was determined to change my thoughts about it and ended up going on a really great hike with one of my best friends that I've known since I was in 5th grade, Krystal. There were a lot of years during college and after that me and her lost touch so the time I get to spend with her now is very enjoyable and I am grateful that we've managed to keep in touch again. We set out a little too late in the day to hike and caught the sun setting over the mountains which was absolutely gorgeous and even ended up seeing the full moon while we walked back to our cars. Hiking is my favorite thing to do here for exercise and I get really crabby in the summers down here when its too hot to do almost anything. But the hike completely helped my mood. At one point Krystal went on a little further than I was able to and I sat in the stillness and just listened. It was so peaceful and quiet and totally what I needed to clear my head of any unwanted negativity.

Today was a really fantastic day overall. I worked with my cousin this morning (more on that later). I got a chance FINALLY to stop by my office for my second job and pick up a few paychecks I've had waiting there for me. I guess it paid off (literally) to be lazy about this because it is almost like another savings account for me. I finally had enough money to go buy this entry table I've had my eye on that I wanted for our place. Its been looking pretty bare as far a furniture goes and I'm tired of people commenting on that fact every time we have a BBQ. So I finally got it and spent the last hour putting it together but it is perfect! Exactly what I wanted. Its funny to me that a year ago I lived with a friend, had mismatched furniture and could have cared less about it. And now live with my boyfriend and we are slowly turning our place into a home. I really like this feeling. Its nice to have someone to come home to and cook dinner with. To go on cute dates with and have inside jokes. This is the first time I have been in a functional and healthy relationship in my life. I kinda feel like I'm bragging but sometimes its just nice to say out loud what you are blessed for so you yourself can remember too.
My new entry table!
Jason being cute
Also, I'm super excited to be helping plan my parents surprise 40th wedding anniversary next month!! We are expecting about 80 people and there is so much to do so far! I really hope they enjoy their day and can look back over the past 40 years with fond memories. I can't wait till I can look back and feel the same way with my own special someone ;) I feel very lucky lucky to be someone who has parents that have been together for as long as mine has, although I certainly know that it is not the norm. Its been such a great foundation to me in what I expect and want out of my own relationship. I will be excited to see their faces and get the chance to tell them how much they mean to me.
Happy Tuesday night!!

How frequently do you hike? I've never gone hiking before, but I guess its because we don't have hills or mountain in the country I live in. Might sound strange, but its true. Not a single mountain. I play soccer 3 times a week, that's my way of staying fit.
Mhammadd-
I try to hike a few times a week but sometimes my schedule doesn't allow it. And during the summer it is far to hot out to do much so I don't then. WOW no mountains? I'd probably cry! That's really great that you have something that you still enjoy doing for staying fit. Its always fun to work out when it doesn't actually feel like your working out!! What country do you live in?

Wow! Love that table....and everything on it as well. Honey, you're not bragging...you're grateful! Nothin' wrong with that...we need MORE of that. It's great to identify the positive things in your life...too many ppl focus on the negative. Your hike sounds lovely...the photos are beautiful (as are you and your friend).
I def enjoyed reading this post!
Mahsa-
